The army of packers arrived this morning. Elizabeth was relieved that they were all women, due to her firm belief that men do not know how to pack anything that is translucent and has no power cord or sharp edges. I was also relieved because there was little argument when I said I would pack my own collection of translucent, electric, and sharp tools.

Looking out at this field of cardboard boxes before me, I am convinced that Elizabeth has some kind of space folding ability or perhaps a shrink ray that she hasn’t told me about because I have no idea where all this stuff fit before.

Remember moving out of the dorms or your apartment that the end of college? You were glad to go, but sad to dismantle this place that held so many memories. This move is the same only incredibly more sad. And expensive. Which just makes it even more sad. And complicated. Which just makes it really even more sad.

However, I am told that due to the weather, I will frequently be wearing a hat, which is disturbing enough to take my mind off all the sadness.

When the going gets sad, the weird get distracted.
